This is my daughter Samantha and my son Alexander. I am praying that Sami will be home soon.

The Night's My Witness And My Heart's It's Alibi

To the faces of many I shine like the stars at night
Always a glow and so radiant to their souls
I give them peace that some have searched a lifetime for
And, I can speak the language of both young and old...

They see me in a different light then what I feel
For, in the midst of my rain I can still hand them the sun
I can smile on the outside and die inside at the very same time
And, I can be everything and anything I must become....

They see me gliding when really I stumble on every piece of ground
But, what they don't see is the reality of my world
For, behind closed doors I become a dear friend to heartache
And, I struggle to hold on without my little girl...

Believe me when I say it's a sense of desertion here
Cause I am not what they see through their eyes
I am every bit of weak when the lights go out
For, the night's my witness and my heart's it's alibi...

When evening falls and I'm drowning in her memory
And, not a soul can see this extreme side of me
I find myself standing in her doorway resting in thought
And, taking in the sweetness of that little girl as I breathe...

Tomorrow when I wake to face another day I sometimes regret
I will wear my mask again and just hold my head high
And, when the world believes what I'll allow them to see until dusk
The night will be my witness to the truth and my heart it's alibi...

I spend most of my time in my minds image of holding her hand
Though I am in two places at once from where I stand
The night's my witness to grief of my life's lonesome song
And, my heart's it's alibi to where I have been all along...
