When God Gets Done With Me |

When earthly cares are at an end When I at last feel the fullness of free Will my legacy live on in truth? When God gets done with me. Will I stand before Him in sincerity? Knowing no harm was done to another or will I have to ask forgiveness for the sins of my father and mother Will Angels carry my soul to the light to find my everlasting grace Will I in all my human weakness be able to look God in the face? The building named as holy church has not held this mortal in years Does God give credit for all the times I shed kindhearted Christian tears? In love I have been true to the end though tempted I wandered not As anger grew around my lonely heart my God-sworn vows were never forgot My eyes would not see lines of color I tried to hold no man in derision And now, at the end of my life I await God’s final decision Will there be love for me in heaven just one last time I long to see a smile of love on someone’s face when God gets done with me |

Yes Poet, God looks at the heart. Not at good works, Though we should do the good works and if the heart is right we want to and cannot help but love our fellow man. But know this. God looks at the heart and the soul. He will crown you. floria Floria |

 (big hugggsssssss) This is sooooooo beautifully bittersweet, dearest friend, I believe we all ask ourselves these questions every now and then, but I believe He has a plan for us all and we all will go when the time is right and after our hearts have grown to love and appreciate everything here on purgatory! Sharon, this is special. It touched me especially, because of my Grandmothers' passing last week. The last stanza I apply to myself, maybe love in the hereafter, as it doesn't seem too abundant in the now.
