*my mom{SEA} said I should post this here

Sadness that consumes the world
hearts broke, tears in eyes
fake smiles
mournful good-byes

Sadness
with it's never ending path
sooner or later
everybody has to take its wrath

Sadness
consumes your body to the core
nothing can stop it
it can come through your front door

Sadness
covers your face like tape
you can't breathe
there is no escape

~Jezzika~

age 11

*this was inspired by 9-11, and the sadness from that day.

What a tribute to those who are still suffering, and those of us who have experienced deep changes in our lives since 9-11.  What also amazes me is that you, my dear young poet, are wise beyond your years.  I hope you continue to follow in your Mom's footsteps, and view poetry as a way to not only get your thoughts across, but that you become very adept in mixing the world's situation into words that we can all understand.

I am so very Proud of you!

WOW Jezzika!
I sincerely hope you will continue to look at the world around you and create poetry from what you see.  This was a piece of poetry that I never would have guessed from a young person, and extremely well done.  We are all still in sorrow over September 11th, and it will be a day I personally will never forget.  I hope you read this at school?  I have to say, if I had a child with this gift of poetry I would be extremely proud, as I am sure your Mom is
Great job!

WOW!!  Miss Jezzika, this is incredible writing from a person of your age!  You must really take after your mom in that department sweetie!  This is a wonderful tribute to those who lost their lives, and those who are still suffering on the six month anniversary of 9-11.
Keep up the great work!

This is great! I especially liked the last verse...sadness is like a tape across our face sometimes. It makes it hard to breathe or talk. I would like to read more from you. I hope you write some more and post soon!
Do you have a favorite poet? Would you like to challenge us to write something for you? You can give us a topic or a phrase and we'll do our best!!

A wonderful poem, Jezzriekaka. And I, too, join you in extreme sadness. But let's try not to let our sadness turn to hate. I know it's hard but somewhere the killing must stop. And hate always goes too far.  And then, more killing and more sadness.

This is very good. And, yes it does seem as though the world is consumed with sadness. So many broken hearts and tears.
