Go ahead, lie to me, it's okay Gotta be something you'd like to say Go ahead, lie to me, I don't mind Any excuse, alibi, you find Go ahead, lie to me, it's for fun I'd do the same thing, were I "The One" Go ahead, lie to me, it's for free No point in speaking the truth to me Go ahead, lie to me, make it good Some things are better left misunderstood Go ahead, lie to me, I can cope My neck, not yours, when they tighten the rope Go ahead, lie to me, it's a trend Make up your own story, change the end Go ahead, lie to me, it's a lark Finding your own way alone in the dark Go ahead, lie to me, say it loud Everyone likes to feel wanted and proud Go ahead, lie to me, I don't care Answer all calls with the words, "Not there." Go ahead, lie to me, tell tall tales Like, "Gee, this is a really great poem." Maybe I'm the biggest liar of all... ~~~~~ No, I don't really want to be lied to! I wrote this when I was in a rather bleak mood, one day recently. Then, I happened to find the post here at Piptalk by Nan, where she used the challenge of repeating/adding to the phrase "It always takes two..." This is the same type of idea, but not as upbeat. It's a great little therapy tool...take a phrase that fits your mood and try it! [This message has been edited by Accordionmaid (03-11-2002 12:32 PM).] |

I cannot tell a lie. I cannot tell a lie. If I try to lie, I get into dubble trubble. If I try to lie, I get into dubble trubble. Just ask Larry, he knows! HUH? Just ask Larry, he knows! HUH? Can you tell I enjoyed this poem? Can you tell I enjoyed this poem? |

Hey, I've been in that mood too! Good, snappy retorts! And where better to put them than into a poem! |

(giggles in delight) Oh no, no, I'm telling the truth, I love this poem a lot, I love the emphasis of the repetition and I too believe there are times when it is okay to lie, when they are white lies! (kiss on cheek) Your gorgeous words always touch our hearts, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |
