those clouds up there might really be me

how very often have I walked beneath
the faint clouds in the sky
oblivious to me.
then one day, while listening
to country music, it dawned on me.
those clouds up there might
really be me.
well, my soul that is, i reckon.
all the while i've been wandering
aimlessly on earth,
while, i could already be
a whisper on the wind,
a wispy cloud.
i reckon, human souls have just got to be
so high above mother earth
floating in the heavens,
so to speak.
way up there,
with scattered bits of water,
maybe our tears,
just suspended in the ether.
hovering over earth,
maybe that's how humans are meant to be.
maybe that's how we are.
and when the sun rises,
everything is lit up brightly.

This is quite lovely, and I am so glad you've written it...I like the way it makes me feel, so I am going back to read it again...because it feels very much like a Keeper...

(sigh) This is soooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, I truly believe we can all be clouds at times that soak up sadness and our tears will fall, but then there will always be days where the sun will shine and laughter will fill all our hearts! (smiles) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is excellent! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Streen, thank you for sharing!
