The Complexity of My Complexion |

The complexity of my complexion. Cracked porcelain in dancing shadows of time painting a line of experience across what once was a smooth visage. Days and years speak the stories, sometimes sad, not always full of grace. And yet I face this reflection without fear, without a tear. For I've been blessed with another year to add to the complexity of my complexion. |

Midnitesun, very smooth write and I like the reflection in this. Write on Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Thank you dear friends. Reflective moods bring up a different shade of ink each year. This one is the new color of me. Acceptance, and moving forward. |

Thanks sweet Noah. When you are a teenager you think you are invincible to the outward effects of time and experience. Then in your 40's you try to fight the evidence, or deny it. All of a sudden you reach the 50's and realize what is happening. Some still fight it, others deny it, and some of us accept it and say thank you God, for letting me get this far along my path. |

Well done, Kacy.....our complexions are so complex. The skin is actually the body's largest organ. I never had any complexion problems with zits and the like when I was a teenager...but yesterday morning I woke up with a large pimple right between my eyebrows, and I am a grandmother... I must be getting younger...right! copyright2002 Lyra Nesius "poetry is life distilled" Gwendolyn Brooks [This message has been edited by Madame Chipmunk (02-16-2002 05:30 PM).] |

Thank you, Regina. By your photo I'd guess you won't have this problem for a very long time. Spitfire, how nice of you to visit. Sigh, I finally realized I wasn't 25 anymore. Lyra, that is funny...at least from a distance. Let me know if and when the reversal takes place, I just may welcome a zit under those circumstances! |

Floria, thanks for stopping by. That's the only way I can look at it. I've always heard frowning makes more wrinkles than smiling and laughing. |

Well, that is an attitude I need to cultivate.Ya know, the wrinkle part doesn't bother me too much, but there are other..more insidious changes..Aack. Sandra |

LOL, Sandra, yes there are some other things that aren't very pleasant, and each decade seems to bring on another unexpected aspect of growing up. |

Nice depth to this, a few layers deep (7 to be exact) and i get what you are saying about acceptance; our 'makeup' (no pun intended) and living with things that may disturb our self perception. Cool write, Amigo! tSR |
