Its creeping. Its slow descent from the frost encrusted glass takes it only inches from a lifeless plunge into snow banks and concrete. Slow motion enlargement of miniscule proportions decreasing with the flow of temperature, Dripping its death march tears one by mournful one. A layered glass encasement envelops heart struck frigidity, Masking spider web splinterings within its core. The sun climbs the snow-shrouded horizon Casting killing light, destroying heat. Its frigid hold loosens, a shattering scream breaks the frozen silence; the icicle's perfection breaks into a thousand prismatic shards, Catching the morning's sunlight in a rainbow of emotions. |

Ah!!! At first I thought it was just snow that was melting; I love this one Philip. A perfect description of an icicle thawing. |

"Dripping its death march tears one by mournful one." What imagery! Melting icicles never seemed so tragic. The imagery fits well the inevitable approach of death and grief. Shenachie |
