The Story of Love Sometime long ago When the earth was still an infant There was chaos and hate Out of this turmoil Arose a shapeless form That giggled with amusement Unaffected by the surroundings Unblemished by the hate Floating to no particular destination He soon settled into a comfortable place And called this hope Now time passed And the God’s grew tired of their games For their ways made humans void of emotion Incomplete and unhappy Empty pawns of pain Living in a world without love One day While walking the lands A God of great beauty Pondered the future of man And his own kind When he heard… What sounded like joy Could it be? Then behold In a small pocket of time Lay a giggling figure Familiarity was immediately felt A kindred God Lost within a world of pain “The hope for mankind” “Has been here all along” The beautiful god quietly whispers As two tears drop From his glowing face Instantly becoming instruments of change That our loving demi god quickly embraces Now, Cupid has a purpose And with his golden bow and arrows He disappears between thoughts To spread joy and love To a receptive world Marcel |
