~* Footprints In The Sand *~
© Mysteria 02/2002

My footprints in the sand,
tell me where I've been.
I feel tendrils of the tide,
as they tickle over my skin.

The untamed ocean water
caresses the beaches shore.
I feel the ice-cold water;
I’ve felt so many times before.

I love the beauty of this sea,
that’s been to many other lands,
and made the greatest journey,
to wash upon these sands.

This ocean’s great horizon,
my place of complete serenity.
where I come to bare my soul
in complete confidentiality.

I cleanse my feet in its water,
and breathe in its salty air,
so amazed by its awesome power,
I simply stand and stare.

I don't know where I'm going,
but I do know what I've seen.
My footprints in the sand,
Tell me where I’ve been.

And if you see a pair in view
but no visible form to leave
know that then I walk with you
and feel my tug on your sleeve

Then if you still feel all alone
there upon the sandy shore
hear my whisper in the wind
as Sun kisses your cheek once more

(smiles) Oh my gosh, I know just how you feel, I LOVE the beach so so much and always yearn for it on days when I feel spent or just want to relax and dream away! (kiss on cheek) Just that thought of feeling so small compared to the ocean is always the most beautiful feeling of all, just as I love the water tickling my toes and spinning in the Chinook winds! We all love you so much, sweet friend, may many happy memories forever be etched in the sands of your heart forever and ever, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Hello Sharon

This was visually stunning and I have been there many times.  There is nothing like standing on the edge of the water and looking out towards the horizon.  This was simply stunning and would have to be a favourite.

Take care......Sue

Sharon this is so beautiful.  I know what you mean about standing at the water's edge and the calming effect it has on one.  This is just lovely.  You have captured it well.  *Also smiling at Karilea's reply*

Karilea ~ Can't hide anything from you can I - thank you dear friend.

Sweet Noah ~ You enthusiastic replies always make me smile did you know that, and this time was no exception.

Sue ~ You my dear have some of the greatest beaches in the world, and I wish I could walk one with you, perhaps very soon I may just do that (thinking of going over there next year when Dawn goes there to be with Andy)

Victoria ~ Never have a met a man with a ton of education that could equal a man with "street smarts" never! LOL

Lauren ~ Yes it is sure the truth, was really reflecting today and lots of metaphors only I really get in there.

Nancy ~ The sea has always been my best friend.

Thank you all so much for reading this one.

Janet Marie ~ Sorry you slipped in as I was going out the back door, and yes it is breathtaking.  Check your email I will share some pictures with you of the ocean and the mountains if you ever have a computer to see them *sighing*, and a hug!

As Satchel Paige once said, "Never look behind. You don't know what might be gaining on you!"

Nicely written, Mysteria. Forget the looking behind...you have miles of smooth sand in front of you waiting for your footsteps...focus on that

This is such a peaceful poem.  I like the graphic...it reminds me of a place I went as a kid.

Sharon

The sea is also important to me...as are those footprints.  This was so beautifully written, my friend.  What a nice thought to think, that the ocean that splashes my feet also splashes yours.

...those footprints and sand stretch far back in time, my friend. Wouldn't it be interesting to follow them...back?

Loved this.

It's amazing the effect that the sea and the sand has on each human being. This is lovely Mysteria. Enjoyed. Chris

~* Thanks to each of you *~

I want to thank you all for commenting on this poem.  For each of us have left our footprints along our way, thus making us who we are.  We gain experience, and hopefully love, understanding and compassion along our way.  It is what where we have been that makes us secure and proud of who we are and in where we are going. Thank you again.
