Geesh..CDs CDs CDs..Why do I get the feeling that one day I'm gonna feel the same way about cassette tapes instead of CDs that err..some people felt for a long time about 8 tracks instead of cassette tapes? ROTFL! And why do I get the feeling that I'm going to feel the same way from now on about the gas prices as people felt once years ago when gas went up to anywhere near one dollar or over? Does anyone else but me think the gas prices are now permanently stuck in the current range? Geesh..Turning 25 in March. Does anyone else think that within recent years things are moving at an even faster pace than they EVER have? I mean, I'm already using the "kids today" line! LOL! |

25 in March? Wow...that will make you...lessee here...a quarter of a century old. Heh..... I find I'm already using those 'kids today' and 'back in the day' phrases, much to my inner horror. Even told a story about walking to school. You know the one: uphill, in the snow, both ways, with broken feet. All true except the broken bones part, when I lived in Abilene, TX. But the look of incredibility astounded me. Not only are the kids today disrespectful, but also very very very jaded. Makes me kinda fearful when they reach voter age......naw..not really. As disenfranchised as the lot of em are, they'll abstain from voting, letting sods like me have more power, then gritching about it when what they wanted doesn't happen since they took no steps to make it happen. Such is the price of cynical self-absorption prevalent among todays' youth. I tell ya, back in the day....... |

ALL HAIL KITTEN! The truth bringer! LOL! Ohhh..and did I mention that I actually made the comment to my Dad today that I now would definetely rather have a horse than a car? ROTFL! He was quiet for a minute. I don't think he knew how to take that one! |

Yea, I use the "kids today" line, too. The difference is, I'm usually talking about people in your age group. |

Yanno, despite my best efforts, intentions and strivings, I realize that I'm slowly turning into my parents, whether I want to or not.....those parental genes, once blissfully hidden through their incubationary stage, are now moving, splitting their sac and spreading their wings to dry....gawd but I hate quantum butterflies........ |

You have to grow up, but you don't have to grow old. Age is just a number..there are things that happen to the body when you mature into puberty...that's just a phase. Inside, I'm still a lovesick sixteen year old. But I'm also wiser..and would never for all the money in the world want to go back and live this life over...it's too hard to get where I am. |

Well, may I never grow old then, at least in mind, heart, and spirit. Is it wise to want to start over or start at some previous point if you're not happy with where you are today? |

Personally, Sharon, I think the benefits of wisdom are greatly exaggerated. When I was twenty, I looked back at my teen years and realized how foolish I had been and, of course, how much wiser I had grown. When I turned thirty, I discovered that twenty-year-old guy wasn't nearly as wise and mature as I had thought. At forty, I finally reached "real" wisdom and laughed at the foolishness I had done just ten years earlier. Today, that wisdom I thought I achieved has turned to dust and I'm almost embarrassed by that fellow with no gray hairs. I think I've found a pattern here - and have to assume I'm still pretty darn dumb, but probably just too dumb to realize it. |

As I get older and wander ever so steadily towards 50 I realize that I am now mortal. Something I NEVER thought I'd become. The joints and bones creak a little more and sometimes my mind goes off on some little rabbit trail, BUT...in spite of this, I refuse to grow old. I still feel about 25, had a guy accuse me of looking 35 (bless his heart, lying or not) and will become 45 in June. I think it's all a matter of how you see and feel about yourself. Yes, I too use the phrase "kids today" and even at that I think I can still keep up with most of them little whippersnappers. I may not know as much, but I can remember... back in the day.... How can you save me? When the dark comes right in and takes me, from my front walk and into bed, where it kisses my face and eats my head. Shivaree |

Well Ron as good ol' Socrates said "Wisest is he who knows he knows nothing" Anyway.......I like Cd's....we're already into mini-disc......who knows what's next! I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I'm in love with my shadow I admire it daily |

Like Sharon said. . . age is just a number. . . And in that spirit. . . well. . . I was going to sing a song here. . . but we might get sued if I use it. . . so let's just say that the first words are. . . I don't wanna grow up. . . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

tapes lose sound quality so fast, yet cds get scratched. mp3s are nice but I still like opening a new cd and looking through the art of the booklet. maybe if they made cds smaller it would help. "difference between love and comfortis that comfort's more reliable and true |
