Brambles tore her silken gown As his words had torn her pride Lust had shown her worth to him As he took her as his bride Tender flesh, raw from the night Her feminine petals despoiled As he slept she took flight His nefarious plan now foiled Her father sold her for the gold To rebuild her family estate But she now fled the clutches Of he who would be her mate Gasping now for a breath of air She sunk to the leaf strewn ground Think! She said to herself at last Hide now, do not be found! The sound of horses drew her up She scrambled to her feet in fear Looking for a place to hide So he would not find her here She spied a cave cut into a rock And rushed to squeeze inside She listened as the horses passed She was now the Runaway Bride. …to be continued |
