When I find myself in bed,
bury me in sand.
Contours and old figures
clay-stiff in the sun.

Perhaps there will be dignity
in that final face,
sand leeching from eyes,
rising muddy tears.

I can say "I knew you when,"
as you bring the shovel down,
stuff me deeper in.
Stuff me deeper in.

Words are dust in my mouth.
Oh, they're rising up again.

Mikey,

down
down
down
fresh faced
yet muddied
lying still
beneath the sky
watching glass eyed
in wonderment
a last gasp
for . . . words

beauty and rebirth Mikey

Thanks, Sue. Sometimes, they're all that's left.

Wow, you have such a unique, bold way of looking at things.. that's quite disturbing, hehe.. I like it!!

Bless your cotten sockies, you poetic maniacs. ^_^

Yep, Lori says my poems disturb her, and she wouldn't have it any other way. Nor would I.
