She's stapled posters of Siouxsie and Smith to the ceiling. Near 5 a.m., lying on the floor, dipping hands turning to trace facial contours. At several drum beats, I'll outline an eye, or press on to lips right there above us. Throwing up lyrics to black and white pictures. Their music widens to cover the room. Near 6 a.m., I'll drive the way back on a deserted freeway, shocked into silence by the breadth and the blankness of empty lanes, the fragile gold light in oncoming sunrise. On into bed, those eyes stay with me, guiding me down as birds' reedy voices tremble with waking and twitter toward morning, turning to lullabies for cities in dust. |

hmmmm, this one confuses me a little. don't quite understand, but enjoy trying to fathom it out, though i'm sure its very simple, it was as it is written here. I like muchly, anyways. Instant karma's gonna get you. |

This is an easy one to explain. I was at a goth friend's party (hence the Siouxsie adn Smith posters) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Exhausted and addled beyond compare when I got back to my house, I wrote this then collapsed until half past noon. |
