Disappearing act got fired from the circus left her on the telephone wire to a foreign country where no one answers the phone but it wouldn't matter because no one's got the time to speak in english anymore, besides, who wants to listen to her speak about the pineapple turning pink when she's got desperation ringing in her voice and she won't answer when they ask her what's wrong. Inspiration in avoidance, she hates how he no longer talks to her, never explaining why or even who is taking up his energy, simply vanishing at the most inopportune moments, green sharpies scribble emotion on computer screens reflections of her sent all across the world how could she think she could control the rain when she can't even control her own tears? She wants to float away in hot air balloon heaven find out if the clouds do taste like marshmellows destroy the matters that plague her mind sex ruins teenage relationships but no one listens to the wisdom stuck inside her fourtune cookie mind they have to find out the hard way. She washed away your windows and you look willing away the feelings but she cries when she once said that you can spot the ones with no hope from a mile away, but if it's the truth how come no one's picked her out of the crowd yet stupid kids won't listen when you feel younger than any of them and they ruin their lives as easily as they ruin your life and their teeth. When does it ever begin to matter? [This message has been edited by Allysa (08-07-2003 12:34 PM).] |

I'd like to write a poem with this title sometime, just because I believe it's one of the deepest of human emotions. The way you write of it shows that you have a good grasp of the concept yourself. I enjoyed your description of insignificance, it shows a lot of pain mixed with insight... just like any good poet should have. Nice work, Allysa... Brian Faith is a fine invention |
