You know, I tried to let you go To where the air is rare I tried to let this July alone But felt the feeling stare Right into this soul of mine Where memories take my heart So just a brief wave, hello Knowing tender poets never part. Yes, we miss you much, my friend, Your wise ways, and clever words And strong you were until the end In a voice imagination heard Deep into this soul of mine Where memories take my heart So just a brief wave, hello Knowing tender poets never part. In memory… /pip/Forum47/HTML/003112.html [This message has been edited by Sunshine (08-03-2003 05:14 PM).] |

A beautiful tribute of remembrance from a beautiful poetess, for a wonderful poet. He is missed, and this paints that achingly. Thank you for writing this. |

Not he is great who can alter matter, but he who can alter my state of mind. --Ralph Waldo Emerson a tribute from a great poet to a great poet -- in a community of poets. |

I was reading in my library the other day and came across some replies of his... he was so gracious and kind spirited... and his love of poetry was always evident in his responses. Thank you for this lovely reminder of a special poet Kari. "How could I stand here with you and not be moved by you." |

You know what, Karilea ? Just this morning ... Wilfred paid visit in spirit to my thoughts~ I was sitting outside, gathering poetic thoughts ... and he flooded me with his admiration of Walter Benton poetry. And now to find this ... doesn't surprise me in the slightest~ Thank you~ ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

I've missed his words, your tribute to this writer coming at a much needed time, Karilea. Thank you! The stars will shine when I am gone, |

I never knew the man, but your tribute here is a good indication of what he must have meant to so many people. It's always a tragedy when a contemporary poet dies... all we can really do is grieve, and give his poetry the attention it deserves... People like you keep poets alive, Karilea... Brian Faith is a fine invention |
