Holidays With Hitler. Sunshine and smiles absentee’s at this Prisoner of war camp on the stormy seaside the buildings wear the grey gloomy uniform of the wehrmacht it’s well worn but no colour shows through mother and father report me disown me I’m cast into ball pools and made to sing songs I sulk out the hours miserable defiant awaiting the weekend liberation. I don't know why I wrote this, or rather I'm not sure why it ended the way it did, it's certainly not the same as the original draft. even kittens can kill [This message has been edited by Marshalzu (05-02-2003 07:02 PM).] |

This is an interesting piece and one that gave me an odd tinge of sadness. I suppose that could be because of the subject matter, but it was deeper too... Maybe I'm just getting too emotional over this piece. I'll add it to my library for sure. 2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2 |

This struck a lot of memory in me, too... memories of holidays coming around and suddenly making everything seem alright. I like your image of the prisoner of war camp, it's a bit of an exaggeration but nonetheless expresses the restriction and stress of the days surrounding holidays... You're right... it's almost deceptive, the way in which we celebrate. I like this very much, Zu... probably one of my favourites of yours. Parasite God becomes as |

I sulk out the hours miserable defiant awaiting the weekend liberation. AHhhhhhh summertime, loved the sulking out the hours, nicely put. I remember my moody teenage holiday mardiness. I was horrendus. I sometimes refer back to it, every now n then, but when you're put thru such torture, what can ya do. in all seriousness, haunting images. I studied a level history, and this took me back. but, the cold grey buildings, and bad weather were you in skeggy, or blackpool? Instant karma's gonna get you. |
