Amazing Grace.... In dark of night I sing for you My voice lifts up in song! Alone am I in this cold world Where right is now all wrong You took my heart and crushed it here Beneath your heel of scorn No longer can I bear a pain I’ve known since the time I was born So now I retreat within my shell Let those who shine prevail I take my leave of heart’s desire And thus will end my tale. ** Ok..your turn!! Pick a song and write lyrics for it. |

Oh-o-lady bright! I weep your tears that dripped..down on me -eeeeee... I... never guessed how still the flame would shine down on me.... (This does work. If ya call me? I'll sing it to ya. ) |

A lot of poems can be sung to the tune of Amazing Grace... because Amazing Grace is simply ballad format... I do like the way this is written, Sharon... the formatting is nice, and the tune of the song is a nice enhancement... but I'll pass on your offer to write new lyrics to a song that already has them, as I used to do that as a habit and have recently overcome it, for what I think is an improvement in my poetry overall... If you write well to the tune of a song then, I suppose it's a good exercise nonetheless... and I did enjoy this poem. Nicely done, PDV. Parasite God becomes as |
