there is always the hope for it that the sickness has tuckered out its bones scattered along the tubing canals (spongy and hollow, how electricity might sensate a womb of wire) like some pitiful brute creation finally run to death by the pacing echo of a Minotaur but more often, i seem to carry the bones, sprinting into walls, rabbiting from the charivari of its footfalls and eager grunts tittering hysteria, aware i am mad-dashing from private manifestation… the symbolic mirror of my very own special cerebral infection good god, what tricks of light are speared through the eyes of the newcomers? who trust their instincts of discovery will actually make mention of the beauty of my soul before the unraveling begins horror more tangibly hideous than The Island of Lotos, where drugs & glamour cater delusion ~ vanquished upon detection ~ the victim fleeing in appalled liberation from sweet, silver mendacity no, here, the veils are obscurities but existent; lacerated through silk:muslin middle, wrappings springing free to reveal the grey, bent body & weak, stealing claws rolling wetness of beseeching eyes my pathetic shuffling, the weakness, greediness and stench the moans of martyrdom gossamer strips still cling, snapping ends frantic for escape like the bloodied wings of angels stitched heavily to demons beauty grievously flawed, painfully unnatural derisory cosmetics for the spiritually wretched [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Cor (10-28-2002 07:35 AM).] |

In the same vein as before, (both in read and response) it would seem that I DID see what I thought I saw. I believe that some things within have been illuminated by your introspections, far earlier than for most. [your third decade is no place for such weight, or at least an unusual place for this awareness.( maddening, ain't it?)] But, what do I know? Ed |

Strangely, this reminded me of a particular moment of Metallica's "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" which goes "The mirror stares back hard. Kill, it's such a friendly word. It seems my only way for reaching out again." I have no idea why. |

in the turmoil and in the understanding of the insights..you continue to write with depth and unique voice. Some say you write older than your years, but I think you write with an understanding of your years and an ability to express what many can not. I just dropped by to read a bit..and have only made it here...as I read, then read again...pondering and amazed... |

Frighteningly beautiful, Ms Cor... this is the kind of dark, disturbing writing that makes me feel feeble. The imagery was literally terrifying, definitely something intimidating. This poem towered over me and glared. Wonderful writing, although it was a little difficult to understand, because of the amount of metaphor used. Still enjoyed this a great deal, and will be sure to read from you again in the future. Parasite Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored. |
