Half Turn of a Screw Once you’ve see the red and gold Of sunset painted sky Once the aureates unfold Before the lustful eye Never will a pinkish hue Arouse the wonderment in you Once you’ve lain in pleasure’s field In wisps of fragrant scent And breathed bouquets of life’s own yeild The spice of soul’s content Never will a rose’s bloom Seem near as sweet as love’s perfume Once you’ve grasped in your pursuit A dream of fond desire Once your toil has reaped the fruit And set your soul on fire The flame in you will never burn To give a screw just half a turn Once a dream is part of you Just half a dream will never do Elizabeth Santos |

You reached in and made me think deep Liz. Matter of fact my mind is still pondering the truth you've laid out here. Provokes much thought in such a tender image filled poem. I could never tire of reading what you write. |

Well, here I am, reading - of course, I have to read and this, this is the most stunning work I've seen and read in awhile. The flow is exquisite, it carried me. To read something like when one is feeling so screwed up is a blessing!!!!!!!! "I walked beside the evening sea and dreamed a dream that could not be." George William Curtis |

~*Sigh*~ Excellent in both message and poem Elizabeth! This is so true and perfectly said... As always, I enjoy reading your work. ~Sheri "The things that come to those that wait may be the things left by those who got there first" |
