Solitary Heart Inside the moving throng in the city that’s alive Lives a solitary heart struggling to survive More alone than if I was on a mountain peak millions of faces around me but not the face I seek Listen to the laughter the sounds of joy abound muffled through the barrier of the pain that I have found I nod to strangers occasionally but seldom meet their eyes in this mass of humanity no one hears my lonely sighs *Inspired by Ron's comment about the solitary life of a big city as compared to the Himalayas. Thanks Ron |

PdV, That is a haunting and well written write. Hey from a Phoenician. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

*smiling at serenity's wish to 'merge' herself* Sharon~ I know this feeling very well, my friend. It's never easy feeling alone in a crowd, and not being able to find that one special face. I've looked at a LOT of faces over the years, but I'm still looking for THE face. Beautifully penned, my friend. Glad you shared this. Hugs, ~Vicky "...until you have read the verse on his heart, you have not truly met the poet. ~vlraynes [This message has been edited by vlraynes (10-18-2002 04:53 AM).] |
