The sides of cipher dice:
heart. (hope)
mind. (sky)
mouth. (flesh)
eye. (sight)
black. (shadow)
light. (soul)

Toss two:
heart-eye, (hope, sight)
mouth-light, (flesh, soul)
mind-black, (sky, shadow)
eye-mind. (sight, sky)

Toss three:
heart-eye-mind; (hope, sight, sky)
light-black-eye; (soul, shadow, sight)
eye-mouth-black (sight, flesh, shadow)
light-eye-eye ... (soul, sight, sight)

Toss until you see
their words.

Now write.

Since you are tossing out Ideas or whatever,
Why not make a real poem out of your tosses.
Although with such limited choices I suggest a Haiku for each
heart-eye-mind; (hope, sight, sky)

With my heart I hope
Eyes searching the infinite
Cloud forms in the sky.

Or something along those lines.

For greater flexibility I would suggest Tarot Cards

Ah, Gloom. Check out Dark, and start readin' up on One deck later (six parts so far). That is tarot cards.

And you thought those six sides limited? I see almost limitless vistas in each one (hope can comprise faith, religion, love; black can comprise anger, depression, death; flesh can be sex, or touch, or taste)

That's why they're ciphers, those dice.

Thanks for readin'.

Thanks, Ron. I just wanted a ready response if someone ever asks me where I get my ideas. I wrote a much more obtuse poem about the subject a while back (maybe a year or two ago?) and it involved ghosts rattling candy tins at me. In short, it made no sense.

I'm glad this try sits better -- not only in your mind, but in mine.

YAHTZEE!!!!

Had to say it, sorry

You do seem to have a limitless ability
to conjure conjecture.
