Just because your face is smooth and your best bits remain uplifted doesn’t mean I’m less than you that I’m not just as gifted I can kiss like a teenager can pet with animal pride I don’t need to borrow a car when I want a quick joy ride You laughed when I told you inside I’m sixteen years old you told me I was past it I was mild sauce - not bold You think I’m past my prime? well let me tell you dear it takes a little time to make aged to perfection beer |

I don't mind a drink that's smooth, ...I guess that is all right, But if I had to pick and choose, ...I'd pick a drink with bite. Betwen fine wine and cold Coors beer, ...the picking would be easy, Don't get me wrong in what I'm saying, ...I never would pick sleezy, But sure as shootin', I wouldn't drink, ...some high falootin' gin, I'd drink a drink that's aged with body, ...with just a hint of sin, So put them fancy glasses down, ...I'll drink straight from the bottle, An aged to perfection lager beer, ...really revs my throttle. (Hope you don't mind, I apologize, couldn't help myself) |

I think Mike said it best, SHaron remember with each year comes experience but also a greater depth and wisdom, but also the ability to dip back into the pleasures of past years. Does that make sense? It is not about being what people call old, it is thinking old that is the problem. There are 15 yr olds in the body of 30 yr olds and 30 yr olds in the body of 15 yr olds. SO rememeber to do something childish and silly every day, and something sensible and kind. This is why I give brief thumbs up replies, cos otherwise I just rant on, and on, on.... Loved the poem. Too early for the rainbow, too early for the dove These are the final days, this is the darkness, this is the flood |

Youthful lines no longer were unwritten but the volumes now contained in each and every cell of time passed were a library of the sensual to be read by light with eyes appreciating the depths and in dark by finers as the felt the braile lessons to be learned |

Past your prime?? You?! Never!! Why, Sharon, you will always be in the prime of your life. Loved the read. It's one of those pieces that needs to be put on every board in the world to remind people that they are never past their prime. Thanks for the read. ~AF~ "No wonder I do not make people comfortable. I think of Wine when speaking of proper aging, But that’s just me. But past you prime? I thought you were going to talk about Slapping on a second coat of paint. It doesn’t matter the paint, It’s the walls that matter, Are they still standing. Liked your poem Gloom |
