It seems there’s always someone Ready and willing to dish the dirt It doesn’t matter if lie or truth Nor does it matter who is hurt Have you heard the latest about me? It’s been circulating like crazy The truth has been lost somewhere So the story is pretty hazy I've heard that I’m to be wed The groom’s name I didn’t detect But he is just a minor player In a tale of two lives soon wrecked I was in jail, at one time, I heard For a crime of mounting passion Another story is that I am A woman of no style or fashion Prying eyes and loosened tongues Have decided why I am a recluse Gargoyle chin and witch’s wart And a mind dull and obtuse It’s said my poetry is written By a woman who lives down the hall That every line and every word Isn’t really mine at all I’m supposed to be a siren Stealing men from my best chum I wound him around my pinkie Now she just calls me ‘scum’ What is the truth I ask you? Why do you need to know? Think twice before you speak Or pick up that stone to throw |

Never have I seen my own thoughts on gossip and busybodies so clearly expressed. I am your greatest fan sweet lady. Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn. |

I heard it on Monday, and I laughed awhile. I heard it on Tuesday, I managed a smile. I heard it on Wednesday, my patience was tried. I heard it on Thursday, and I hurt inside. Now I need to know the depths of your mind. I need you to tell me you love me. And we're doing fine! -Breathe, Depeche Mode I'm tired, so I might have screwed up a line, but that's what yr poem reminds me of. Which is a good thing! I've heard so many things said about me both in front and behind me and I've also heard that none of that is true... ..... great poem, Sharon... Regards, Sudhir |

AMEN...err..thank you? err...Shh..yesterday they said you were well.. best not to talk about that right NOW. YOU WRITE YOUR OWN POETRY?? OMIGOSH!!! Loved this, Lady. It holds a message that I hope a lot of people who have already read it will get kicked in the rear or somewhere else painful with it. ~~sigh~~ I could hope, eh? I will not bend to the cowardice of a silent judgement. |
