I wanted to make my own way I knew how to do things and I could do them well I was no dummy – I had some smarts You had taught me so well Do it carefully – do it well Don’t be sloppy – take you time I learned well from you My wares were impressive People stop me and tell me how nicely I have done I certainly have become accomplished in my trade But dear dad - I'm walking through your shade |
