It’s only a glass of water on the table
Nothing unusual about that at all
Except the print of her reddened lips
Send me reeling against the wall
Cries of your passion greet me
As I climb to our bedroom above
My heart beats in rhythm with
The sound of your illicit love
I hear you call her name
She coos softly back at you
My hand on the doorknob
Wondering what to do
I turn and walk away
All my instincts are to leave
To hide my head in darkness
To begin my night of grieve.
