It’s only a glass of water on the table Nothing unusual about that at all Except the print of her reddened lips Send me reeling against the wall Cries of your passion greet me As I climb to our bedroom above My heart beats in rhythm with The sound of your illicit love I hear you call her name She coos softly back at you My hand on the doorknob Wondering what to do I turn and walk away All my instincts are to leave To hide my head in darkness To begin my night of grieve. |
