I remember you!
As peeked out
White within the green
harbinger of spring
your scent
fresh after winter’s smoke

But that was in my youth
A long time since I saw
The buds of you
And held you to
My face in renewal

Lily of the Valley
The book says the flower
Represents new life
And renewed happiness

Perhaps that’s why
I’m so sad

I like this! Free verse and touching to boot! Plus I love lillies... It's the flower of May babies you know.

The flower is very sought after, for brides..small and delicate with a lovely fregrance. They are hard to find here in California, and come at a high price if you buy at the flower market.

Enjoyed your poem, Sharon...brought another meaning to such a pretty flower.
