Let us walk in the shadows of the day,
Slow in pace in the cool along the way,
Let us pause as we go taking time light
Let us stroll all the day till we reach the night.
Let us see the sunset fall behind the hills
Slow the night will huddle us with chills
As the spring flower close till the morrow
Let us walk in the night of shadow.
Let us hold each other in walking
And quiet will speak when not talking,
Let us walk with no place we need go,
Let us pause gathering things grown slow.
Slow the day will return to the sky
Let us go without the asking why,
Slow in pace in the warm along the way
Let us walk together through the day.

Gloom

I'm liking this... will take me about 20 more reads to know exactly what's getting to me... I'll write more when I have the details...

Hey there! You write beautifully. I like this side of you.

Course the other side is good too....just different.

Thank you, JP,
Although I didn’t think it quite that deep,
I am pleased you liked it enough to consider a reread.

Thank you, Poet deVine,
Some have said both sides of me are “different”,
Glad you enjoyed this one.

Yes, Let's. sigh...for all of my frantic mania, this is what I am lacking these days.
Hmmm...blackberries are getting ripe, too!

An excellent idea! Thanks.

Beautiful

I like the tempo... You used just the right words and sounds to achieve perfection in imagery and developing the mood.

Bravo!

Such beautiful images, and a much more beautiful meaning behind it all. If we could only slow down, walk with our loved partner, and take in everything like this poem describes. After a long university day, this poem calmed me very much. Thank you.

Oh, make me Thine forever
And should I fainting be
Lord, let me never ever
Outlive my love for Thee

Yes, indeed....and when I've had too much of light but far too much of darkness, gloom is just about right.
