and the night
brushed gossamer wings
like moth against my eyesight light
lighthouse beaming into moth night
and the moth
the moth persistent beat wings
of purest rapture
against back windows of hindbrain longing
and together shared we
until the dawn
when the moth of night
was ate by sun

Alicat:

"of purest rapture
against back windows of hindbrain longing"

very unique imagery...sometimes the night does that, sometimes the moth, but usually the imagination.  Enjoyed this!

I know this moment well...it's called "bedtime"--

and together shared we
until the dawn
when the moth of night
was ate by sun

This is extraordinary--each line word flows into the other creating seamless lines.

I'd raise my coffee cup to ya, but don't expect me to drink, it's been there since this afternoon...sigh... Enjoyed, Ali!

Doncha think moths are beautiful? They really are quite inspirational to watch - I like to leave the bathroom window wide open, when the light is on, to let all the moths inside to dance.. this is a lovely simile Ali.. I've been away too often, and missed so much of your beautiful poetry.. :{

Love,
Lynne
