A Spenserian Love Sonnet

Oh how sweet love's embrace does hold me tight
Alike the softest touch by Angel's wing
Caress of tenderness and pure delight
Aloft the stars and moon two spirits sing
Alike the softest touch by Angel's wing
As when the moon embracing morning's sun
Aloft the stars and moon two spirits sing
Two melodies entwine to only one
As when the moon embracing morning's sun
    Ethereal awareness fills their eyes
Two melodies entwine to only one
    In universal peace aloofness dies
All cuddled up and safe in love's embrace
I find myself lost in love's calming face

        Munda

Munda--Thank you for gracing us here with this beautiful love poem.  I don't know much about Spenserian Sonnets, but the love part did sound like the perfect place to be.

Very lovely indeed. Beautiful sonnet!

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

Munda, This is beautiful, you are mastering so many different forms of poetry it's amazing to me.

Sometimes we have to follow a stronger voice, even if it's silent.

This is more of a Pantoum than a Spenserian sonnet... I don't know if you did that on purpose or not?  Spenser's format just uses the rhyme scheme that you've used but doesn't repeat entire lines like this---

Either way I liked it, I don't know if he'd be jealous but I thought it was very nice...

Hope to see you posting sometime soon.

This is truly a beautiful sonnet Munda.

I'm keeping it.

What are you my twin? You affect me like you are my twin.

LOL Brian, this is the one time I completely misunderstood Nan's explanation in the Workshop! I have no idea what to call this, but it's most definitely no Spenserian Sonnet.
I have rewritten this poem to a pantoum some time ago. Here's the final result:

Love Pantoum

Illuminated by love's sweet embrace,
Within the shelter of an Angel's wings,
Caress of tenderness and loving grace,
Aloft the stars and moon two spirits sing.

Within the shelter of an Angel's wings,
Two melodies entwine to only one.
Aloft the stars and moon two spirits sing,
And watch the moon embracing morning's sun.

Two melodies entwine to only one,
Ethereal awareness stills their cries,
As when the moon embraces morning's sun,
In universal peace all distance dies.

Ethereal awareness stills their cries,
While fantasy turns to reality,
In universal peace all distance dies,
When kindred spirits meet their destiny.

While fantasy turns to reality,
They feel the breath of immortality;
When kindred spirits meet their destiny,
The Universe composes poetry.

They feel the breath of immortality,
Caress of tenderness and loving grace;
The Universe composes poetry,
Illuminated by love's sweet embrace.

Thanks guys for bringing this back alive. I had completely forgotten about it.
