thousands of flags waving in the sun life ended too soon before it had really begun a sigh and then placing flowers she gave upon the dirt of ex husband’s grave marriage ended before death took him away now standing here she can only pray so many dreams left unfilled by his life never seeing the love ‘tween son and his wife never meeting the child who carries his name oh what a waste! oh, what a shame! **Each year on the anniversary of his death, my daughter sends silk flowers to be placed on his grave. Today was the fifth anniversary. I took them myself to the Veteran's Cemetary and was amazed at the flags there - it's always a stirring site. And then I wrote this poem. At the time of his death, my ex-husband did not know that our son would soon meet and fall in love with a wonderful girl. They married two years after my ex's death. And last July, my son and his wife became the parents of a very special child. Ian Matthew will never meet his grandpa, and that is so sad. And although our marriage ended, I feel badly that he missed out on so much. |

Sharon, The sign of a truly big heart. To be able to feel the loss of someone for whom love was not to last. Very fitting tribute and such a fine gift for your children and grandchildren. Sin isn't fair, but God got even, grace isn't fair either. larry c |

and you wonder why you're my friend. . . this is why. . . ---------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

The death of a marriage rarely means the death of all of the emotions that comprised it... You're a sensitive woman with the kind of compassion that I'd expect in just this situation...Nicely said, m'friend.. |

Silk flowers are the best kind... they don't die This was a truly pleasing read PdV, well shown. It's nice to share - kiss someone when you have a cold. |
