Sunshine kissing chilled leaves
warming them with rays of hope
much like friends warm chilled hearts
with rays of hope and smiles.

Migrating birds abandon trees
to seek new homes
promising to return again
in springtime when flowers bloom...

Much like friends who
for one reason or another
fly quietly out of hearts...
nothing we do or say
makes them stay.

They migrate...seek rays
of sunshine and hope
build new nest of dreams
in other places...other hearts.

Oh, Precious Lord!
Give us hearts like yours
that always love the same
and never migrate.
