Into the sea

I felt liberated
I felt so free
Walking on the beach
It washed up to me

I was firm this time
Said you must see
I can’t keep you
Here with me

Further and farther
I cast you out to sea
Thinking now
It was history

In my mind resigned
Gone for good, finally
Here you came right back
Disappointingly

I tried once more
Now frantically
I had to get you
Away from me

On the beach, in sunset reflect
When suddenly
You were there again
In the heart of me

I finally gave up
decided to just leave you be
I would always love you
Endlessly

How can the Sea get rid of memories by tossing them into the sea? HuH?

You can make the memories muddle
If you toss them in a puddle
Or you can dissipate emotion
With one good throw into the ocean
Thoughts that make your poor heart break
Can be drowned quickly in a lake
But SEA can't kill a memory
By throwing it into the SEA!!!

Oh MY!! can't say enough about this. One, it is exactly something I have done, I even threw his name into the sea, torn up into little pieces of paper. Didn't help. The way you wrote it was just flawlss.
