A recent CNN article inspired this poem: http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/space/01/10/color.cosmos/index.html ** The Galaxy of Turquoise Green I gaze up to see azure clouds Float on periwinkle sky Pink sunset streaks at dusk Cause me to wonder why I question why each different hue Seen together this palette bold Becomes a color tepid Or at least that’s what I’m told Tis turquoise green scientists say If melded colors blend Well I don’t care what they say It’s blue; it’s blue until the end. |

I've always wondered if it's really some other color that we perceive as green. Something to think about, well written. What light through yon window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. |

Ah Sharon, this is wonderful. Your 1st stanza is truly breathtaking. The choice of wording really brings it alive and paves the road for an enjoyable read. You've taken to your own challenge well ( ). The article itself was...different. Who would have thought turquoise? I was rooting for yellow myself. *lol* ~AF~ If this is all the world has to offer, I want a refund on my life. |

hehe... I didn't get a chance to read this article but instead had the chance to hear scientists arguing over the color of the universe on radio last night. Most were of the opinion the universe is colorless, as "modern astronomy" isn't viewed through the naked eye anymore - but instead viewed through super powered lenses that print out maps of information for us. They say there is only, and I quote "black and white" to the universe. Now doesn't that present a grave image - the universe merely black and white - mesh that together and what do you have? In the end, one said something about the color of the universe only being for poets too...lol Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but was it not the beauty of the stars, space, and the universe the drew man into astronomy to begin with? Where did we lose this along the way to derive that the universe is colorless - or a flat green? The color(s) of the universe are best left to the poets imho... and yes, blue included, Sharon. why can't it be green-- a bit brighter green would be nice ( and according to the article possibly is) green is the color of life--growth-- the living-- in fact I think we can answer the question billy ocean asked -- the colour of love is green. at least to me it is thanks for the lovely verses your devineness :J There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar. |
