There are two old busy bodies in our town.
One is called Miss Flossie and the other Mary Brown.

The monthly dance was being held this Saturday night.
These two old ladies just knew there would be a fight.

Saturday came and everyone was ready for the dance.
They were the first ones there you could spot them at a glance.

Old Granny Hattie happened to walk in.
Miss Flossie and Mary Brown just stood there and grinned.

Whats Granny Hattie doing here they had to ask?
Maybe she`s cleaning up after this social blast.

Granny Hattie is seventy-six and spry as a hen.
What folks saw that night they may never see again.

The country band started singing their songs.
The dance floor was full before too long.

All of a sudden the dancers were clapping their hands.
For Granny Hattie and a handsome young man.

The young man stopped dancing and took a bow.
Come on Granny Hattie why don`t you show us how.

There in the middle of the dance floor was Granny.
Just a doing her thing and shaking her fanny.

Miss Flossie and Mary Brown stood in a trance.
I bet they were wishing that young man would ask them to dance.

Cute one Juanita..sounds like my mom..she loves to dance..and thinks shes the best haa...shes the same age..

I just love your special character poems, Juanita....and of course, this one is no exception...

Juanita darling girl this is without doubt one of your utter best, you really are getting to be soooooooooo good. The flow and the rhythm are utterly utterly excellent.

Wow!!! This is wildly wonderful. I'm for any and all Grannys, dancing. They are by far the best partners, and this old Grandpa ought to know.

Newel,I`m 50 and I don`t have the energy that my mother inlaw has.She is 76 and her name his Hattie.
