There is something I've fallen in love with It's all but consumed my life you see This thing that has caused my obsession Is the writing of poetry I first started writing Back in February of 2001 Many feelings of grief and remorse I felt As my life was becoming undone My sad lonely words painted a picture Of the deep love and devotion I felt Towards my dearly loved father His death had caused my heart to melt But from my most humble beginnings I found there were many things I could write My ideas sometimes coming like lightning Unexpectedly in the middle of the night Soon I found myself writing of romance And my infinite love of the sea How my images of love and desire Seemed to wash right over me Feelings of love had all but consumed me As I wrote of two souls in love Who would give themselves to one another As they searched the starry skies above My words also took you through my garden A place of peace and tranquility That contained so much natural beauty And was such a big part of me So many have been writing for much longer I am merely a new kid on the block All I can hope is that my writing continues And my love for the written word never stops Suetang [This message has been edited by Suetang (01-09-2002 09:17 PM).] |

Not unlikely at all. Your words flow from your heart making you a wonderful poet who is a total delight to read. Keep writing and I will keep reading. **big hugs** ![]() ![]() Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

Beautiful Sue! I know how you feel, for I have not been writing long myself and I hope it never stops....once the words start to flow, there doesn't seem to be any stopping them. Lovely write here and a pleasure to read. Hugs, Nancy. ~* A dream is a wish your heart makes... *~ |

I am sorry for the tragedy that you had to go through, but I am glad you were strong enough to face it, and stronger yet to continue writing...for it will never let you down... |

Sue, I remember when you first started writing for your soul to heal, and not only has your writing grown in depth and clarity, but I see from your writing that your love of poetry and your father are definitely entwined into a wonderful thing for us all to share. This was absolutely a beautiful piece and a very loving dedication to your father for it is the love of him that started your writing and sharing. Thank you for this my friend. ~*~ Carpe' Diem ~*~ |

Sue, I have seen many, many, of your poems. I recall your writings about your lost love (your father), and then of the love of so many other things around you. Like the sea, your garden, and your own loved ones. All have so blossomed into word. Your care for others is another area in which you have taken flight into verse. I know you will write till you die. And who knows what your spirit may do after... One thing you will never be is an unlikely poet. As a matter of fact, you will continue to be a fine quality poet as your years pass. Your inspiration now is life as it comes along, and also, many things from your will reappear to play a part. Your poems will always be a pleasure to comment on. Just like this fine work. Fellow poet and friend. Roger [This message has been edited by thepoeticplumber (01-09-2002 10:35 PM).] |

Amazing that such pain can be the vehicle that opens our hearts to begin to write. Glad you are doing so and thanks for the bio. |

You have described what many of us feel Sue, like yourself, my writings are quite young and my mind in constant clutter of idea and rhyme. You have taken that clutter and sorted them into beautiful verses dear friend, never stop!!! |

Sue, Wow. What a wonderful way to respond to such a deep loss. I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad but so thrilled at the discovery of your talent. What a fine way to honor him. |
