Sometimes it is best to let those that create evil to let them lie in it until it festers within them. Create the sunshine that will bleach them into being human again. Sometimes words written so bitter They are better left to sour on the vine Their acid froths cut such deep wounds That they fester into boils Anyone who dares to touch them Will create another seed of true contempt Cutting deeper for no reason at all But to satisfy a vicious recycling So let the sunshine in To dry up the moisture Of this destruction To sanitize the imperfections That may become wrinkled But sweet to the touch Within the mind D.Lester Young (01/06/02) Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) [This message has been edited by D.Lester Young (01-08-2002 12:21 PM).] |

I liked the poem, but disagree with the premise. Most people who appear to be evil are simply hurting. To add injury by isolating them would be cruel. There are some, yes, who are beyond redemption, but not most. I try not to judge, but to empathize and to aid healing. This is not to say that your poem is not incredibly insightful! For those truly evil people it is indeed best to let them stew. I guess you have accomplished what you set out to, because you certainly evoked a lot of thought and reaction from me...hee, hee!!! |

Bringing thought into the process of reading is part of the magic I write for. |

You have touched on a fundamental truth. Words.....are powerful, alive. Kathleen-- |
