On A Journey To The Unknown

0 posted 2002-01-06 09:03 PM

This heart of mine had been closed
For so many, many years
I swore I would never love again
To feel the pain I felt before
On that day, when I first met you
A friend is all I wanted to be
Somehow you managed to slip in
This broken heart of mine

I will love you until the day I die
Even if we are not together
My love for you I cannot ignore
Because it is so real
Memories of the love we shared
Still linger in my mind
I've never known love like this
One I just cannot ignore

I need the love you once gave me
Not the silent treatment I get
To feel the love we once shared
Is what I need from you
The love I feel for you continues
Staying inside my heart
But, I think it is time for me to go
I'll love you from a distance

I don't know what the challenge was but this is a great poem. I loved the last line,
" I'll love you from a distance" floria

Oh my gosh, Sue....how emotionally painful this poem is. I felt your pain in every word. I just hope that time will heal the new bruises on your heart. **big, big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Sue, this is so so sad but beautiful, I pray that this isn't a letter based on your own experience and love has found your heart forever! (sigh) May you forever love close and share true happiness forever! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

This is a beautiful outpouring of love. And it speaks to my own heart - it could have been written about me. Thank you.

Good job on the letter. Sometimes, for your own peace of mind, one does have to love from a distance.
Thanks,

Melton

Sue. I am hoping that this is not based on your current feeings. Loving fom a distance is hard..the silent treatment is bitter. You said it well.

I like this poem very much. It's hard to lose someone you love but time heals and it's true...out of sight, out of mind. In time the hurt lessens and life goes on, we can only pick up the pieces and live to be happy and have peace in our hearts. I think we are responsible for our own happiness...don't ever let someone else be the sole reason for your happiness...I love your poem.

If I received a letter like this, I would definitely run back to her.  Beautiful expressed and heartfelt, these words will hum in my head for quite awhile. thanks for sharing.

You have definitely captured the essence of something that can be so bitter sweet.
