When sounds around me have faded to nil,
When I wonder what makes a house a home,
When there’s so much empty left here to fill.

It is the times like these I’m not going,
Sitting silent on the sofa I wait,
Where you are I have no way of knowing,
Is it early for you or very late?

I could just check to see where is your flight,
You left me times and places where you’d be,
But all that matters is you’re out of sight
And I want you here sitting beside me.

It is the time you’re here that fills this place,
With your laughter, your presence, and your grace.

I could relate to this well, there's a gap created without that presence, so you stay where you feel it the most.
