I'm so confused, aren't you too?
So many questions and so many cliches.
Where to begin, where to begin?

Love love love love love love love.
Why to we butcher it with that word?
"Love".

I am a middle class white male in America.
Doesn't get any better than this...

We'll pull through somehow.
We always do, dont we?
Doesn't really take much..
I've always considered myself an optimistic person.
But, really, maybe I should face the "truth".

What the hell is "really" going on here?
Is there really anything after we die?
How do we know for sure?
How do we know ANYTHING for sure?
How can we exist like this?

Do you have something to explain to me?
I'm disheartened by your silence.

Perhaps I just need somebody to talk to.
What is there to talk about?

We are in the 21st century,
and by God we aren't as dumb anymore.
What is there to really talk about?
They probably think the same darn thing, too.
Wondering about what to say.
Can we just not talk, and hold each other?
Do you really feel the need to say anything?

I suppose I should ask God for a sign or something, but thats becoming a cliche now, too, isn't it?
Oh, listen to myself.
What I'm I saying?
I'm better than this.
I'm being cynical.
It's cynical night with EagleScorpion.

Oh who am I kidding,
We are all so damn beautiful..
The akwardness, the discomfort of life..
This is all so beautiful to me!!
I mean, HOT DAMN!!!
LOOK AT US!!!!
WHAT THE FU*K IS GOING ON?!?!?!?!?!!

Love is God. Love is war. Love is what your life is for.

Wow, can you hit a point or what?  I think we humans are all built with some genetic flaw which makes us dissatisfied with everything we have, even when we have achieved perfection.  Even when we are "living the dream".

You know the one, perfect family, love, children, and spouse.  Have good job, have house, 2 vehicles, and even a boat.  Go golfing, camping, fishing, skiing and take vacations.

Even when you have all that we are told we want, why then do we make it so hard to be happy?

"Oh who am I kidding,
We are all so damn beautiful..
The awkwardness, the discomfort of life..
This is all so beautiful to me!!
I mean, HOT DAMN!!!
LOOK AT US!!!!"

Great stuff, and you are right - we are wonderful just the way we are, if only we could see it.  sigh.....

Mac

ps - I really enjoyed this!

joe!!  you're poem eloquently expresses the philosophical disillusionment with the mystery we call life... just have faith that things don't suck as much as you think.
