You've had your lofty year end celebrations now awaken to new thoughts and incantations, perhaps not wanting to awaken just yet and to get up, 'cause there are quests to be met. This is serious and sober call in boot camp training men were in bed as you were having a ball to defend your right to have fun..oh gee so you could drink your beers and have to pee. And you say that you have to do it once a year in keeping the faith to hold your friends dear, but friends, I have them all year long don't need commercialism to keep friendship strong! The one time of the year should always be many how many times has that been said already, take your time to be generous to those in need and bring some word of comfort with god speed. Because sadly as the years peel by and you worship fireworks thrown up high, populations are dying by the starving masses and the climates we once knew, now also passes. Great states there are but too few in number express their joy while the world goes asunder, I dare you to wake up to your thoughts and incantations you've had your wondrous year end celebrations. (smiles) It is such a wonderful feeling to ring in the New Year, but I agree that we all should reach out to one another beyond New Years Day and spread our love and hope as if it was the New Year everyday. (sigh) Sooooooo well-expressed, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martin, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! True words, Martin.....but we do have to take a break sometime. I think that if we didn't celebrate New Years this year, we would be letting Osama and the forces of evil win. I think he would be very happy to see that and I don't think we should let him have the satisfaction. I viewed last nights celebration in Times Square as an acknowledgement that he couldn't break us. Happy New Year again. copyright2001 Lyra Nesius |

Hi Mdme Chip, I don't see it as letting the forces of evil win if such extravaganzas are curtailed, I would see it as a sobering up of the people. Anyway it depends on how you look at it, my view could also be influenced by Canadianisms and how as a nation Canadians could be less extravagant.Happy New to you as well.
