I give this to my valentine,
whom I love beyond doubt, or reason
I give this gift to you,
my heart to hold through every season
you make me happy just thinking of you
like sunlight through a cloudy day
you make me smile so easily
even when you have nothing to say
your fingers are electric
and they set my skin to charge
the way it makes my mind so clear
it makes the smallest thing seem large
you right me when I'm twisted

and yes, the way you make my toast
the simple things you do for me
when the day is old and gone
the way you sleep so soundly
when I rise before the dawn
how I love the days we layed in bed
snuggled deep beneath the covers

so much to say about you
so few ways it can be said
get some sleep tonight my angel
and place your halo by the bed
