I've not a simple verse
to express this pain that makes my heart ache
it feels like a broken arrow piercing through me.
I've no metaphor to play upon
no rhythm to rhyme
no lover to call my own.
How does one describe the breaking apart,
pulled back bending in the curve
holding tight, aiming too high
missing the mark by a long shot.
A sudden snap of the bow
demeaning me;
and all my efforts to get it right.
Makes me feel foolish for ever daring to care.
Oh dear Lord help me,
for I've no threshold for this kind of pain
or these childish games cupid plays.

Lori,
See now...I hate that you have to feel that way! You need feel no shame. Regret I could concede. But I hate the thought of shame. And as for cupid...he has screwed up before, I can attest. Any Questions? You sure did emote well in this one. A "bluesserenade".

Blues, you were just shot with the wrong arrow. Your arrow is still in 'the quiver' waiting for the right moment.

I like the idea of being left in the quiver!
Thank you for that thought Midnitesun.

Startime~ no one can make our dreams come true,
not even ourselves.
Thank you for your comforting words.

Blues Serenade, we may not be able to make all our dreams come true but we can get some of what we want. Keep that smile and I am sure you will find the right one for you.

Dee

I wish you every happiness and may you always have the best of the good things in life.     a brand

Dee~ Thank you for that, I shall not stop smilng, not ever never.
Ironically there are no tears in the end
just lessons to learn from.

PB4S~  It's a sharp pain all right,
but this too shall pass.
It's not my thing to write so sadly
please forgive my melancholy mood.
I'm a big girl!   Thanks.
