Dawn dispels the darker dreams
and fills the mirrors with light,
day from night may be extremes
lest both Love's unrequite.

Juxtapose yet quite diverse
each date a mad cyclone,
savage clock's cruel sweep's perverse
whose rounds find one alone.

Beaten heart no second hand
to wave away a time
where light's a lonely wasteland,
pre Eve, an ancient mime.

Ante, post meridiem
mean nothing in a place
where ash and obsidian
are cast for dreamed Love's face

And just as one finds comfort
in brief and shallow sleep,
roust of lonely death extorts
as bludgeon daylight leaps.

So toss and turn and toil
a riptide lunar loop,
the cyclic solar roils
ebbed time you can't recoup.

Wait! Eternal solitude
another day perchance
benign Eros at last include
this dreamer in romance.

Pure poetry. The cadence and rhyme are sublime, as is the imagery. Richard, this is exceptionally wonderful.

OH how I have missed your rhymes divine...
along with your always impressive imagery, poetic phrasing and vocabulary. You not only write extremely well, but also diversely in both style and content.
You write intelligent poetry that takes us to places of unique possibilites.
Superb write Poet Richard.

some find subtlety in alone.
Your eyes, you see everything,
my eyes, I see it all together now ... and I know.

What she said and yes Richard, when you write we learn something every single time.  We miss you here, so sneak on that computer at work more often.  That was incredibly good, and I especially loved the last verse and hope it comes to you.

*sigh* even though I weave my own dreams I toss and turn in the night for I still feel the emptiness of my bed...*sigh* I know these feelings all too well and wake each day know there is still no romance in my life and may never be...**big hugs** I do hope you have a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY..

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Extraordinary verse! I think that covers it.
