sautée my life
to a hot fire
rouge like hell
i want to disembark
don't know what happened
end is the end

Ernest where are you?
loading your ego

Driving to heaven
on my purple horses
ride on down
another night out
doing the thing
o my God!

fooling around
on borrowed time
gayly
giving away
y me Lord

just another day
oily molly
unsatisfied
red hand aunt
nearly
étouffé
yes mam

mating season
asking for trouble
giving away
in a basket
cake and baby
asking where is my dad?
laying in a gutter

llama
llama
ama
mamammia
answer me

caring for you
loving you
immersing you
mojo and all
boogie on up

Listening to every heart

Ok, I admit, my head is not into mardi gras [at least not at the moment, although it would rather be!] but as I read this through three times, I hear a faint thumping of drums in the background, some jangling of beads, some chanting, and the smell of the bayou coming up on the wind...

you definitely got my attention with this one!

Some great writing here with images to be discerned, at least for me!
It's all codfish pie to me but I liked it so well....but what the hell up here in Canada it's 20 below zero today so I envy you!

Well I must say that you got my attention being from Pineville, LA originally and being half cajun, "Jambalaya" was enough for me to read and comment, but what a...how should I say this...Remarkable...poem you have written here.  Very unorthodox, very gutsy, all gittery and choppy, kind of confusing...as like Mardi Gras would be or life in New Orleans would be.  Just kind of crazy...good write...I must say...good write.

It is so good to be here again. I stopped visiting i have been dry as a bone.
I wrote this last month, it was a game, someone just threw a few words on the screen.
Originally i called it 7 words on the acrostic line, it was therapeutic to do.
By some wild miracle i got to Passions in Poetry, decided to post my one fling of the year and after i read it a few time and being Mardi Gras the whole thing made me think of Jamming at the blues club on Thursday night in Baton Rouge and the word Jambalaya came one.

Thank you all so much for your comments, and making me feel so welcome. I hope i can write again.
In the mean time i am reading  your poems.
