~* To Be Part Of The Family *~

I checked in on both my granddaughters,
sleeping so peacefully in their beds.
I saw them both surrounded by stuffed animals,
and a soft teddy snuggled by their heads.

The baby must have been dreaming,
as she had a sweet smile upon her face.
My heart melted as I looked down upon her,
and it stored another memory to never erase.

The older one looked so very peaceful,
content within her own little world.
I stroked her porcelain complexion,
gently moving away some auburn hair curled.

We spent a whole week together,
the entire family and me,
and each time I see them all,
there’s so many changes in the kids I see.

I never miss a chance to share this time,
And look forward to spending it with them all.
Time passes so quickly in this life,
I drop everything when the family does call.

To share these moments in time with them
being included in their life is a gift indeed.
To laugh, love, and experience joy,
Is truly something that I need.

Being included in their life says a lot to me,
if it’s spending a day, or staying overnight.
You see, their invitation always says to me,
“Hey, you must be doing something right!”

~*~

I took a chance to show off my kids, as there is nothing more important than family, nothing! And the best gift you can ever give them is your love, time, and yourself. Above is My son, daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, and Bandit the dog!

That is definitely a wonderful family photo collection. Thank you for sharing these with us, and the poem. But who wouldn't want such a proud happy poetic wonderful mom or grandmother like you? You can adopt us into your family any time....but you and I would have to be sisters.

Precious little ones, and yes, they grow up way too fast. Treasure them all as I'm sure you will. It is a blessing to be close to your family and being included in their growth is pure joy. Much love, Kate

Thank you all for accepting us into your house and also for taking me into this wonderful family too.  Nan, that over-energetic fleabag's name is Bandit, and I love her too.

What a great poem. It's really neat how you put the pictures with the poem and let us see the faces behind your poem. I hope you made a copy for your family. If my mother or grandmother did something like that, it would be something that I would always treasure.
