Written in Green River, Wy On my way to Washington state November 22, 1985 22nd anniversary of JFK assassination The Light at the End of the Tunnel There once was a light at the end of my tunnel But, now I've reached it and it has gone away. The desolation I feel is an emptiness, a sadness. My light is gone now and with it are my dreams, my hapiness. But, I have reached the end of my tunnel and the light once there now glistens as a star in the sky. To you this is nonsense to me it is a confession of love, of my love. I have finally realized what love is. It is companionship devotion, friendship and a bond. The man I love was the light at the end of my tunnel. But, he has gone beyond me, and through me maybe he has at last found peace. The peace that for now, and forever evades my soul. For my light shines in someone else's heaven. For Jackie O., our nation and for me |

Kit made this today, and somehow it seems very fitting for your poem. The older I grow, the less important the comma becomes. |
