The Shores of Alone

I'm as a canvas, ivory white
blank space stretched tight upon taut frame
just waiting for my artists touch
to create joy from haunting pain.

Inside, my heart is lavender
and dusty rose fine edged in lace
requiring creative touch
to color in the empty space.

Please paint me now with colors strong
so I can show my canvas true
magenta, jade and peridot
perhaps a touch of sapphire blue.

Your paint a magic formula
to birth the portrait of my soul
I was not meant to be so pale
my ivory has heart of gold.
