I reach,
not blinking.
Afraid you will
disappear into the
mists of my imagination.

Fingers trembling,
heart pounding,
tears welling.

I watch you swim
through the depths
of my joy.

Until at last
my eyes flutter
allowing the tears
to run their course.

And I sigh,
feeling your fingers entwine with mine.
