The Touch of Flesh

by Michael

I can’t deny that eyes are drawn
to nakedness, so supple warm,
the suck of breath, the touch of flesh,
the heat that thrives within her form.

But she is so much more than this.
Her eyes, green pools, reflecting light.
Her laughter brings my laughter, too.
She holds me close within the night.

I touch her in so many ways.
I want to know all that she is.
She is the scent of autumn days.
She is the breath before a kiss.

Within my arms, such beauty held,
how could she care so much for me?
I am a man of broken dreams,
that walks alone beside the sea.

Caressed with whispers, I find peace.
I draw her close and breathe her in.
She is my muse and we are both,
intoxicated with our sin.

This is quite simply one of the most lovely poems I think you have posted here.
Truly.

My perception of truth will somehow never quite be the same..and so I write.

Wow, this is really a treat! So sensual, so smooth in the rhythmic flow of words. Very, very nice, dear poet friend.
