Volume

Like the sands in an hourglass
Our life-time will flow
The passing of each second
Gently stored below
The sand’s flow has a limit
Our life here an aim
Although we will never know
How much time remains
Birth gifts a certain volume
A measure yet to flow
But kindness we share in life
Enables it to grow
Once all of our sand is spent
We alone take blame
If the volume in our hourglass
Has remained the same

(sigh) So very sad but well-written, sweet friend, I pray that will never be the case and we will all grow rich in love and compassion to others as time goes by so we can all have something to be proud of and happy for when ones time is up! (big hugggssssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend, your heart is always flowing with pure love, God Bless You! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Brian, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I find your work interesting, Brian.. You have quite an introspective mind, and it shows in your writing... I enjoyed this..

True, Brian, true. We are in charge of the way the sand will flow.

Nice write Brian, we all have to make the most of the time we have, life is definately a gift that we do not know how long it will last.

There is always great volume in your poetry. Brian, please don't ever put down that pen, nor that camera. (Except to hug your family.)

Brian,
I think the sand in my hourglass is a little damp...or at least it seems to be stuck. Interesting concepts you have presented here.
Kethry.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
